Cathy Leman is the founder and president of NutriFit, Inc., a Chicago-area fitness studio and nutrition therapy private practice. Cathy shares her passion for prevention and wellness with businesses, associations, groups and individuals through worksite nutrition education programs, lectures, seminars, breakout sessions, and one-on-one nutrition counseling. She is a registered, licensed dietitian, certified as a personal trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and holds a masters degree in health psychology.
Cathy provides nutrition services for corporate worksite wellness programs in the form of Lunch and Learns, on-site nutritional counseling, and weight loss programs. An energetic, passionate nutrition speaker, she connects with her audience by mixing inspiration, entertainment and practical strategies for a compelling take-home message.
In her private practice, Cathy draws from both nutrition and psychology. She specializes in weight management, eating disorders, emotional eating, sports nutrition, vegetarian nutrition, women's nutritional issues, and general nutrition for health, prevention, and management and treatment of disease.
As a freelance writer and author specializing in nutrition, food, fitness and health, Cathy writes for a variety of print and on-line publications. She is the contributing writer for the "Good Carb, Better Carb" cookbook, and author of the booklets "Nutrition at Work: 60 Simple Ways To Eat Healthy On The Road And At The Office", and "Eat Healthy. Live Healthy. 114 Easy Ways To Make Good Nutrition A Habit".
Cathy is an honors graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BS in human nutrition, and credentialed as a registered dietitian through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). She earned her graduate degree through National-Louis University's Master of Arts in Psychology program, with a health psychology concentration.
She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, IDEA Health and Fitness Association, The International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians, and is a past board member of Nutrition Entrepreneurs, a dietetic practice group of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
